Big Ride for Africa
Employees are cycling and running for children in Africa
As the in previous years, keen sportsmen and women from UPC will be taking part in the Big Ride for Africa once again this year. From 20 - 21 June 2018, they will be pedalling around Dublin or running a (half) marathon. Each of them can select their own individual challenge to raise money for the Lessons for Life Foundation. The donations collected will be used to help children in sub-Saharan Africa get a school education.
Lessons for Life
Every year, the Lessons for Life Foundation organises the Big Ride for Africa. This is a charity run and bike ride, with the participants raising money for the Lessons for Life Foundation’s Lessons for Life Foundation organises the Big Ride for Africa. This is a charity bike ride and running event with the participants collecting donations to improve educational prospects for children in Africa. In Africa, around half the population currently exists on less than US $ 1 a day. And so going to school is not a given for many children. In Ruanda, 4 out of 5 children are not able to finish their schooling. We are convinced that education changes everything. The Lessons for Life Foundation helps children in Africa go to school and stay in school. The organisation also funds training for teachers and improves conditions in schools.
Every little helps
The Switzerland/Austria team from UPC has set up a donation profile at www.justgiving.com to help them raise funds. Donations can be made directly via the platform. All of the money raised will go directly to the Lessons for Life Foundation. Support the campaign with a donation and help get children in Africa to school and give them a future.
