Big Ride for Africa
Employees pedalling for children in Africa
As in previous years, keen sportsmen and women from UPC took part in the Big Ride for Africa once again this year. They pedalled around Cologne from 20 to 22 June, 2017. Each of them selected their own individual challenge to collect donations for the Lessons for Life Foundation. The money raised by the Foundation will be used to help children in sub-Saharan Africa get a school education.
Lessons for Life
Every year, the Lessons for Life Foundation organises the Big Ride for Africa. This is a charity run and bike ride, with the participants raising money for the Lessons for Life Foundation’s “Send Me to School” programme. The Foundation promotes one of the most sustainable forms of development aid: school education for everyone. By the end of 2017, 50,000 children will have been able to go to school thanks to the support of the Foundation.
Every little helps
The Switzerland/Austria team from UPC has set up a donation profile at www.justgiving.com to help them raise funds. Donations can be made directly via the platform. All of the money raised will go directly to the Lessons for Life Foundation. Support the campaign with a donation and help get children in Africa to school and give them a future.
Eric Tveter, CEO of UPC in Uganda
Eric Tveter recently visited an aid project funded by the Lessons for Life Foundation personally and was able to see for himself how the money is spent. In Uganda, he visited schools and played football with the children. In the following video interview, you can discover how this visit inspired him.
