THE CABLE CONNECTION IS NOW INCLUDED!

CABLE CONNECTION – WHAT IS THAT?

The cable connection connects your home to the glass fibre optic cable network operated by UPC and its partners. Just like an electricity or water connection, it is part of the basic infrastructure in apartments and buildings. You need it to receive our digital products such as Internet, digital television or fixed network telephony.

Cable connection: the key to entertainment

Ultra-fast Internet, crystal-clear telephone calls and digital TV: the cable connection makes it possible! It provides you with access to the fibre optic cable network belonging to UPC and its partners.

Goodbye to confusing bills

In the past, this cable connection was billed separately – but now things have changed! Since 9.3.2017, the price of our Business Combo 600 and 300 products as well as our Business Internet Fiber Power 600 and 300 products has included the connection to the powerful fibre optic cable network. For you, that means more transparency and a better overview of your outgoings.

REAPING THE BENEFITS IS SIMPLE

Are you a new UPC customer and haven’t yet paid for the cable connection? Then you will benefit automatically from the simplified billing as soon as you activate your new subscription.

If you have already used the cable connection before, you can reap the new benefits as follows:

BY ADDITIONAL PROPERTY EXPENSES

Your cable connection is billed by a local cable operator.

What you need to do:

1

Order your new offer

2

Cancel the cable connection from the additional property expenses

Together with the order confirmation, you will receive a letter template from us, which you must complete and send to your landlord. Your landlord will then cancel the costs for the cable connection from your additional property expenses.

3

Simplified billing

A separate bill for the cable connection is no longer required. Your cable connection will remain active without interruption.

DIRECT BILLING BY UPC

UPC currently bills you for the cable connection.

What you need to do:

1

Order your new offer

2

You will only receive one bill from us in the future

As soon as your new offer is active, the separate bill for the cable connection will no longer be sent out. You do not need to do anything further.

3

No interruptions

Your cable connection will remain active without interruption.

BY LOCAL CABLE OPERATORS

Your cable connection is billed by a local cable operator.

What you need to do:

1

Order your new offer

2

The local network operator will continue to bill you for the cable connection

3

You will receive a credit note from us in the future

So that you do not pay twice, you will receive a credit note for CHF 30 from UPC each month. You will be able to see this on your bill for Internet, TV and/or fixed network services. The bill will be adjusted automatically – you do not need to do anything.

*The local cable operators are partners of UPC. The process may differ from this description for some partners. In such a case, our partner will inform you about the individual steps in good time.

FAQS

I don’t know how my cable connection is billed.

The cable connection can be billed in various ways: through the additional property expenses or regular direct billing, for example. It is no problem if you are not sure how you pay. You will receive all relevant information and documents from us as soon as we have received your product order. Generally, our customers do not need to do anything as we will adjust the billing process for you automatically.

I am not sure whether I already pay for a cable connection.

If you already purchase digital products such as Internet, digital TV or fixed network from UPC or one of our partners, you automatically also use an active cable connection for which a fee is charged.

I am not yet a UPC customer. What do I need to be aware of?

As a new customer, you will receive a bill for your subscribed products including the cable connection at the start. You do not need to make any adjustments.

Can my landlord refuse to adjust the additional property expenses?

No. Adjusting the additional property expenses is a standard procedure which does not entail any financial loss for the landlord. It must be accepted and carried out. You can request this adjustment from your landlord at any time in writing. You will receive a letter template from us for this purpose, once you have ordered your new digital product.

I want to keep my current UPC product. Will billing of the cable connection still change?

You can, of course, keep your current product from UPC. Nothing will change to your cable connection or the way in which it is billed.

Does a technician need to visit me if the cable connection is to be billed differently?

No, no technician visit is required for this.
