When it comes to smartphone sales, Xiaomi ranks fourth on the global market, even though the first Xiaomi model was only launched on the market in 2014. But in spite of this global popularity, Xiaomi was only known to tech insiders until a few months ago.

By now, however, the Xiaomi brand – pronounced "Schaumi" – has taken Switzerland by storm, too. And not without reason. The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 and Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphones not only set themselves apart from the major players with their excellent price-performance ratio, but also with their outstanding design features.

The breathtaking display is the core feature of all Xiaomi smartphones. Xiaomi smartphones have almost no edging and use a screen with a unique 17:9 aspect ratio. The best thing about Xiaomi smartphones: the visible display covers almost the entire front screen, and some models have an unbeatable screen-to-body ratio of more than 90%. With such a large display, nothing stands in the way of watching series and films on the smartphone.

Xiaomi uses first-class materials to manufacture its phones: the entire body, the frame and all the buttons are made from ceramic and glass, which makes for a very elegant and stylish smartphone.

Xiaomi not only impresses with its design, but also when it comes to performance and innovation: Xiaomi uses Snapdragon 845 Qualcomm, which is currently the fastest smartphone processor on the market, thus guaranteeing maximum smartphone performance. Depending on the model, you have up to 10 GB of working memory.

And there is a virtual assistant, too: the voice assistant Xiao AI can be called up via a separate button. The voice assistant can be asked to check incoming e-mails or to report on the weather, for example. By double-clicking, the same button can also be used for various shortcut functions.

The ingenious front camera slider is absolutely unique and makes it possible to hide the front camera behind the smartphone. The prominent notch at the top of your smartphone screen has now been relegated to history.

As Xiaomi supports Quick Charge 4.0 technology, you can use your smartphone again just a few minutes after your battery runs out of power. Thanks to the quick charging function, the smartphone's battery charges to 80% within less than an hour. Xiaomi also offers wireless charging, with the correct charging pad included as a standard accessory for most models.
