WHAT IS THE 3-IN-1 CABLE CONNECTION?

The 3-in-1 cable connection is a prerequisite for installation and connection of all UPC products (UPC TV, Internet connection). With an active UPC cable connection you can also use our complete digital basic offer. This means that without an additional box you receive more than 80 channels (simply plug the cable into the socket and watch TV), surf the web at up to 10 Mbit/s (requires a modem), and use a landline connection at no extra charge. Usage and connection costs will be billed separately, unless you are using a UPC subscription (such as Happy Home) that already includes these costs. The Basic products can simply be plugged into the socket.

You will need one of these cable sockets:

2-holesocket
3-holesocket

There are apartments that have a cable socket with 2 holes and those with 3 holes. In both cases this is the cable connection.

In some homes, the socket looks different, but you can still use Basic products. If you have a different type of socket, you can find instructions for connecting your devices here.

See below how to install Basic TV, Basic Internet and Basic Phone.

This connection will be billed separately from your other UPC products. Often, the 3-in-1 cable connection is billed as part of your rental service costs. If this is not the case, you will receive a separate bill. With the Happy Home, Connect & Play and Connect subscriptions, the 3-in-1 cable connection fee is already included.

The Basic digital offer includes Basic TV, Basic Internet and Basic Phone. You can connect these products directly to your cable connection and use them.

HOW TO CONNECT

You need a TV and if necessary a converter.

The way that you connect Basic TV depends on whether you have a TV with a DVB-C receiver. You can find out if you have one by looking in the manual of your TV or on the website of the TV manufacturer. In some cases, it also has a corresponding sticker on the TV. TV sets sold since 2015 usually have an integrated DVB-C receiver.

For TV sets with an integrated DVB-C receiver:
plug in the antenna cable (coaxial cable) and switch on the TV.

If your TV does not have a DVB-C receiver, you will need a converter. This is connected between the HD cable connection and the TV set. This ensures that you can receive digital TV with an older TV set. However, the HD quality is not guaranteed. We therefore recommend that you purchase a DVB-C capable TV set. If you need a converter call us on 0800 66 88 66.

For TV sets without a DVB-C receiver (needing a converter):
connect the converter to the cable connection and then connect the converter to the TV. Further details can be found in the converter manual.

Note: the converter only works in the UPC network and in partner networks.
